Kit Pehl is entering his 3rd season as head coach at Coppell High School. The Cowboys have made Area Finalist appearances in each of Coach Pehl’s 2 years including last year’s 22-13 campaign.
With 15 years coaching experience, Pehl spent 4 of those as an assistant including his first 2 years coaching here in Coppell. His first year he coach football, basketball, and track at Coppell Middle School West and moved to CHS the following year coaching football and basketball. Coach Pehl took the 1st assistant job at Keller High School for 2 years before opening Keller Central in 2003 as head for 9 years.
Coach Pehl was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and is a 1993 graduate of James Madison High School. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and then returned to Texas graduating from Baylor in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education majoring in history and minoring in physical education.
Coach Pehl is married to his wife Lisa who teaches at Coppell Middle School North. Married 11 years, Kit and Lisa have 2 children Gabe (9, 3rd grade) and Emma (6, 1st grade) who attend Cottonwood Creek Elementary.
