Kit Pehl is entering his 3nd season as head coach at Coppell High School. The Cowboys fought through a rigorous schedule and extended their run of playoff appearances finishing an Area Finalist in 2012-2013.
With 15 years coaching experience, Pehl spent 4 of those as an assistant including his first 2 years coaching here in Coppell. His first year he coached football, basketball, and track at Coppell Middle School West and moved to CHS the following year where he coached football and basketball. Coach Pehl took the 1st assistant job at Keller High School for 2 years before opening Keller Central High School in 2003 as head coach for 9 years.
Coach Pehl was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and is a 1993 graduate of James Madison High School. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and then returned to Texas graduating from Baylor in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education majoring in history and minoring in physical education.
Coach Pehl is married to his wife Lisa who is currently an ESL specialist at Cross Timbers Middle School in Grapevine. Married 10 years, Kit and Lisa have 2 children Gabe (9, 3rd grade) and Emma (6, 1st grade) who attend Cottonwood Creek Elementary.
