Beginning his 22nd year of coaching and teaching and his 12th overall at Coppell High School, Clint Schnell will be looking to coach this year’s varsity team to continued success on the court. Through five seasons as the head coach of the Cowboys the team has an overall record of 116 wins and 49 losses and with three consecutive district championships and four playoffs runs.  Prior to returning to Coppell, Coach Schnell was the head coach at Arlington Martin High School where he led the Warriors to a 65 and 35 overall record including a 6-3 playoff record.  The Warriors made the Regional Tournament in 2016, earned a district championship and area appearance in 2017, and were regional quarterfinalists in 2018. 

 Before becoming a head basketball coach, Clint served as an assistant basketball coach at Coppell High School for six seasons from 2009 to 2015 and additionally coached varsity football and cross country during that time. Coach Schnell has also been an assistant coach basketball and football coach at Frisco Liberty High School and prior to that, he worked his way up the coaching ranks as a middle school coach in both the Frisco and Richardson school districts while coaching football, basketball, and track.  In the classroom, Clint has been an English teacher at various grade levels during his career.

 Clint was born and raised in Spearman, Texas where he grew up working on his father’s farm and ranch.  He played several sports growing up which is where his love for competition and coaching was cultivated.  He graduated from Spearman High School in 1994 and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in English.  Coach Schnell earned his master’s degree in administration from Lamar University in the fall of 2012.

 Clint has been married to his wife Courtney for 22 years and they have one son, Jack Brady, who is currently an 8th grader at North Middle School.  Coach Schnell’s family currently resides in Flower Mound, Texas.


Entering his fifth year as an Assistant Basketball Coach at Coppell High School, Coach Nick Shaw brings over a decade of coaching prowess and an illustrious playing background at Stephen F Austin State University. His journey is marked not only by victories on the court but also by a commitment to mentorship, personal growth, and family values.  A proud graduate of Stephen F Austin State University, Coach Shaw's basketball journey began as a standout player. His exceptional contributions earned him a well-deserved spot in the school's Ring of Honor, a testament to his enduring impact on the university's basketball legacy.

 Coach Shaw's coaching odyssey has seen him leave an indelible mark at various institutions, including Arlington Bowie, Midland College, and his alma mater, Stephen F Austin State University. His diverse coaching experiences have honed his skills, creating a multifaceted approach to coaching that goes beyond the game.

 In his time at Coppell High School, Coach Shaw has become synonymous with success. Guiding the team to two district championships and securing three playoff appearances, he has established himself as a knowledgeable and dedicated coach. His ability to foster connections with his players sets him apart, creating an environment where individuals flourish both on and off the court. 

Beyond the basketball court, Coach Shaw is a family man, devoted to his wife, Mckenna, and their two young children, Sutton (3) and Truett (1). Despite the demands of a busy coaching schedule, he prioritizes family time, embodying the importance of balance and values beyond the game. Coach Shaw's influence extends beyond wins and losses. He is a respected figure in the world of high school basketball, making a positive impact on the lives of the young athletes he coaches. His commitment to mentorship and personal development creates a legacy that transcends the confines of the basketball court.

 In the realm of high school basketball, Coach Nick Shaw stands as a beacon of excellence, combining a rich playing history, coaching expertise, and a deep commitment to family and mentorship. Coach Jacob Garrison enters his 1st year at Coppell. He currently serves as a Varsity Assistant Basketball coach who coaches the Cowboy’s JV team and is an Assistant Cross Country coach. Coach Garrison brings 3 total years of coaching experience to the Coppell Program. His past coaching experience includes stops at Maypearl High School where he was an Assistant Basketball and Track coach and at Keller Fossil Ridge High School where he was an Assistant Basketball coach.

 Jacob served as a Student Assistant at University of Texas at Arlington University where he earned Political Science degree followed by a Public Administration master’s degree upon graduation.


Tyler Jones is in his fifth year of coaching and second here at Coppell. Tyler’s previous years were spent at Godley High School. He currently teaches World Geography and coaches football and basketball for the Cowboys. 

He is a graduate from Texas State University with a major in Nutrition and Consumer Science and a minor in Business Management. 

 Tyler is married to his beautiful wife Brooke and enjoys coaching and teaching here at Coppell. 


Raynor Durham is entering his 1st year at Coppell and 13th year of coaching overall.  Prior to Coppell, he coached at Denton High School and Irving High School.  He currently coaches varsity football and basketball for Cowboys.

 Raynor graduated from Midwestern State University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. 

 He is married to his beautiful wife Keylee, and they have two children, Laekin (7) and Emerson (5).
